Well, there’s tears in the treetops,

Faces hidden in the wind.

Memories in the sidewalks,

Waiting for the end.

There’s prayers on the table,


Footsteps echo in the night.


Dreams inside the empty,
 

Shadows lost inside the light.

There’s hearts hidden in the dust,

Souls wrapped up in the thread.

Years lost in every moment,

Living lost inside the dead.

There’s hope in every sorrow,

There’s scripture in the dust.

There’s a song beneath the silence,

As all good things turn to rust…
