The Gift of Life…

This time on Earth is a tremendous gift!
An unwritten book, a blank canvas…
provided for our own new creation.
Yet, there is nothing to says that life will remain as it is…
Ashtara

TODAY: I looked out at a clear blue sky, green shoots, buds, tulips and daffodils blooming! And, sunshine!

WORD: Bliss

COLOUR: Golden

FEELING:

“No matter how dark the night…

somehow the sun rises once again and all shadows are chased away…”

Today I am walking on sunshine! Last week was an extremely tough one for me. There were moments when I thought I may not make it through. I worked through some deep painful wounds, that exposed themselves as I was writing my life story.

I apologise to my Blog followers for not writing my Blog as often. I must admit to being absorbed by the writing of my first book. I am at 29,000 words, about half way now. Which is more of a surprise to me than anyone else.

It has been suggested to me for years now, to write. I responded with a standard answer “I can’t write, I could never write a whole book” One morning something clicked into place, I sat down and out it all began to spill out of me.

To live deeper we have to go to the places that help us find a slower rhythm.
But simply going to these places is not enough.

We have to let these places touch us, change us, speak to us.

PHYSICALLY: Healing, settling, quiet. Gratitude fills me today.

INSIGHTS:
I have come to bring out the beauty you never knew you had, and lift you like a prayer to the sky

Rumi

Part of unconditional love is loving the small stuff, noticing even the most functional. Treating every person and creature who come into our lives as if they matter. In fact flowers, plants, pets, cars, kettles and even material objects respond to love, gratitude and appreciation. Let us all Bless things as we go about our day.

THE COLLECTIVE:
As the larger Universe spins us deeper into the Mystery, multiple changes inspire us to take a more conscious route.
For those who have eyes to see, the signs of rebirth and renewal are everywhere.

For us in the Northern Hemisphere, a long winter is finally ending! Come on! Throw out the old tired jumpers, jackets, sox, tights, belts, boots, bags, and any other well worn items!
Rid your home of the clutter, papers, books, magazines, odd crockery, cutlery and more.
Start this Summer fresh, clean, colourful, energised and re-newed!

AFFIRMATION: “I am blessed…”

Memories of Avalon…

Winter is an etching, spring a water colour,

summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

TODAY: ‘In the awakening dawn, the breezes flow through ancient shards of right and wrong to speak to your heart’

A warm and delicious day. Is Summer finally here? I wonder…

This Blog was written in 2014, yet as my eyes re-read these words, it resonated with my day and I felt compelled to share it once more…with a few additions…

ONE WORD: Acceptance

COLOUR OF THE DAY: Summer colours

HOW I FEEL: “Some sacred places can help you on your journey of self-discovery, Glastonbury is that place…”

BLOG:30:09:14:mktplace-10383-1

Placing my feet on the sacred earth of Glastonbury, off I went for glorious stroll in the sunshine to melt away the cobwebs of my winter…Perhaps less enthusiastically than usual, for I am weaker this year and still shaky after several months of ill health…

Yet, how blessed I feel! Free and safe in this magical place, which allows time for reflection, understanding and healing.

PHYSICALLY: One day at a time…

BLOG:30:9:14:Glastonbury_01

INSIGHTS: ‘The spirits and places…memory of Avalon, whispered during quiet moments, on dark nights and when the Glastonbury women of today are singing and ‘being’ together.’

Its as if there is a deeper knowing of the power that this year brings. This time it is about definite change! I know that not all of those changes, shifts and realisations are going to be pleasant to see, to feel, to watch, or to act upon. For that reason – we need to take as much quiet time and alone time as possible. We need to embrace alone time rather than fear it, we need to allow those ’empty’ hours to be restful, calm, nourishing and spiritual. Listen to your heart and you will realise the truth of such opportunities!

THE COLLECTIVE: Why not make the decision today to go for your dream? Commit yourself to it. Pursue it with passion! Grab hold of it with all your heart and do not let go!

The world is at war – different countries, differing groups, individuals, youngsters, teens, entire families and some are at war with themselves! And what we are observing is those who are hanging on tight, with what they believe to be theirs alone, to take, to have and hold, or it is because they feel safer with ideas and beliefs, that are old and tired and well past their ‘sell by date’, yet still feel perhaps too familiar.

Blessed are you
who comes like a whisper
in my breath
and spreads images of
majesty before me.

The Isle of Avalon

10530732_10152547898309530_7970489356719439635_n

Many a secret and many a myth hath collected in this very Earth.

Its consecrated Holiness allows for many who desire to stand still upon the very same, that which is known as Avalon!

Rich in memory, rich in stories, Avalon re-awakens to find its Holy Place and former Glory.

Upon this land (we) will breath a sound and awaken from the darkness of a deep sleep….

Recently I have been asked why I live in Glastonbury and what brought me here…previously a ‘city girl’, and with my love of Corfu, where I have discovered my rich ancestral background…then, why here?

After being ‘ill’ for several years with ‘heart issues, that led to endless hospital visits and a surgical procedure, I needed time to heal my heart, emotionally and physically…and make a fresh start.

I took out a map of the UK, unfolded it, placed it on the floor, closed my eyes and pointed to a spot. From that moment, every movement towards getting here, fell into place as if by magic.

My 7 years here have been a rich and varied journey, reaching a depth of clearing, healing, acceptance and understanding – along with forgiveness and a newfound heart connection with All That Is, bringing with that a deep love for Mother Mary, Magdalene and this Sacred Earth.

No, it has not been easy. But every moment has been cathartic and a gift. I share some of the histories, myth and stories here…Avalon will always be a place rich in tradition and mystery.

Through the ages, many have written of it, but no one knows the truth. Did Avalon exist? Does it still? Where is it? What is it? No one knows, though the legends abound. In all likelihood, Avalon will always remain a mystery.

Upon a high tor, a tower is struck by lightening, masonry falls to the Ground. But, while the physical tower is shattered, a spiral tower of crystal remains. About the tor, the signs of the zodiac glow within the land. An owl flies upward.

From The Arthurian Tarot –

The word “Avalon” is from the British word lava, which means apple. Hence, Avalon is known as “The Island of Apples.” An actual Avallon (note the alternate spelling) exists in Burgundy.

The most famous setting for Avalon is in the King Arthur legends. Supposedly, Arthur’s sword, Excalibur, was forged on the mystic Isle of Avalon. When Arthur was mortally wounded in battle with Mordred, he was carried to the Isle of Avalon so that his wounds might be attended to by the priestesses…

This is the most common idea regarding Avalon, presented to us by the man known as Geoffrey of Monmouth, or Geoffrey Arthur. His History written about 1136, gives a history of King Arthur, and many accepted his work to be true, anyway he later wrote a poem, the “Life of Merlill,” in which he claims Arthur was laid on a golden bed in Avalon and was nursed back to health by Morgan. In fact, Geoffrey states Arthur was not dead and would return to Avalon one day.

”The Britons still believe that he [Arthur] is alive, living in Avalon with the fairest of spirits and they still continue to expect Arthur to come back.” According to Malory, there is written upon Arthur’s tomb: Hic iacet Arthurus, Rex Quondam Rexque Futurus, or ‘Here lies Arthur, the Once and Future King….’

Avalon also appears in other legends. In Marie de France’s “Lanval,”the hero Lanval offends Queen Guinevere and is taken to the dungeons. Lanval’s mistress, a fairy, rescues him and takes him to the Isle of Avalon. Robert de Boron, a knight from Burgundy, told the tale of Joseph of Arimathea around 1200 A.D. Supposedly, the Holy Grail, the cup used by Jesus in the Last Supper, was taken by Joseph , who used it to catch drops of Jesus’ blood as Jesus hung on the cross…

Joseph then carried the Grail to Avalon, where he died. Could an actual Isle of Avalon exist? It is possible. Is is in fact Glastonbury of old? In England, there is a man-made hill called The Tor, atop which is a monastery known as Glastonbury. It is believed that at one time, possibly around the time Arthur was said to exist, the hill could have been surrounded by marsh and water.

sacred well waters

This would have effectively made The Tor an island. In 1191, the Glastonbury monks linked Glastonbury to Arthur and excavated the site. Seven feet down was a stone slab, underneath which was found a lead cross! The cross read: “HIC IACET SEPULTUS INCLITUS REX ARTURIUS IN INSULA AVALONIA,” which correctly translated would say: “Here lies buried the renowned King Arthur in the Isle of Avalon.”

Avalon will probably always remain a mystery. The theories have never had enough evidence. Avalon was a combination of places, filled with mystery, magic, truth and legends. Arthur, to me, was buried at Avalon. And was Avalon also the land of fairies? Avalon was a holy place, and if Arthur was brought there to die, time may too have added to the legends and mystery…

GOG AND MAGOG

Many would like to know that Avalon really existed, for the existence of Avalon could very well mean the existence of King Arthur, Avalon and for once a real ‘fairy tale’ might be proven true. Or, the truth may never be known. Avalon-Glastonbury.

“Some souls get drawn here without knowing why…

Others have to overcome big hurdles to get here.
Some come for fun, others for spiritual growth.

Many arrive and soon realise that they have stumbled into something quite unexpected…

Is it the energy or the people they seek to connect with?”
